Rescue 3


2007 Spartan Gladiator Classic/Crimson

Rescue 3 is our custom rescue pumper. It features a Spartan Gladiator Classic 6-person cab with 515hp Detroit Diesel Series 60 motor. It has a 1250gpm Waterous single-stage rear-mount pump (rated at 1000gpm), a 600gal. water tank, and 20gal. foam tank. Rescue 3 also has a 15kW Harrison hydraulic generator, a 5400W Wil-Burt Nightscan light tower, side- and rear-mounted scene lighting, and (2) 100' electric cord reels. Additionally, it carries our hydraulic Genesis tools with two hydraulic reels mounted on the chassis and a portable hydraulic pump. Rescue 3 also carries pneumatic lifting bags, air chisel, cribbing, rope rescue gear, a stokes basket, swiftwater rescue gear, and a 12,000lb. winch. As an engine, Rescue 3 also has a front bumper trashline, (2) 250' 1-3/4" speedlays, (1) 200' 2-1/2" attack line, a deck gun, and 800' of 5" LDH.

 
 
Medic 3-1


2006 Osage E-450

Medic 3-1 is an Advanced Life Support ambulance capable of providing paramedic-level emergency medical care. This unit alternates with Medic 3-3 as our primary EMS response unit. Medic 3-3 and Medic 3-1 are designed and set up to be interchangeable so that EMS personnel can switch between the two with ease.

2003 Ford Crown Victoria

Former Bedford County deputy patrol vehicle and was donated to Boonsboro Fire Department in Spring 2005. This vehicle is used as a command and manpower piece.

 
 
Wagon 3


1997 International 4900

Wagon 3 was made by M&W Fire Apparatus in Vinton VA. It has a 530 International electronic control diesel engine and Allison transmission. The Hale Pump is rated at 1250 gallons per minute (gpm). The 1000 gallon tank is polyethylene. We have Scott SCBA, a deck gun which can extend vertically from the top of the truck 18" allowing unrestricted rotation. It has a diesel generator and halogen work lights. The truck is equipped to accept 5" hose with Storz couplings on both intake and discharge connections. It is a NFPA Class A pumper with 2500 gallon drop tank, 24' extension ladder, 14' roof ladder, attic ladder, hand tools, AED, and other standard tools and equipment. It also has a 5" manifold and short 5" sections connect the truck to hydrants. Maxiflex 6" suction hose is used for drafting from a pond, river or drop tank. Building ventillation is done with a gas powered fan. Wagon 3 carries (3) 150ft 1-3/4" crosslays, a 300' 1-3/4" rear preconnect, a 250' 2-1/2" rear preconnect, highrise pack, and 1200 feet of 3" supply hose.

 
 
Medic 3-3

Tanker 3


1992 International 4900

Tanker 3 was built by Ferrara Fire Apparatus of Louisiana. It was designed as a pumper/tanker with 1500 gallon tank and 1250gpm Hale pump. The engine is an International DT466 wtih Allison automatic transmission. There is a quick dump discharge at the rear used to quicly dump the water into a drop tank. The Pump Panel is a top mount with crosswalk. It is fitted with a deck gun and carries 1400' of 5" supply hose. The Air Packs (SCBA) are by Scott. The pump is able to accept 5" intake and to discharge through the 5" hose. A Manifold allows the 5" line to be broken down into as many as 4, 2.5" discharges at any coupling joint. It also is equipped with standard ladders and two preconnected cross lays. Short 5" sections connect the truck to hydrants. Maxiflex 6" suction hose is used for drafting from a pond, river, pool, or drop tank.

 
 
Brush 3


1988 Ford F-350

Brush 3 has a 7.3L diesel engine and 5-speed manual transmission. The body is by Knapheide with a brush fire slide in pump/tank unit which was extensively modified to add an operator panel and high flow valves which allowed the additon of a 1- 3/4" crosslay capable of use on structure fires. It has been upgraded with a new pump and engine. It carries 250 gallons of water, 100' of booster line and several hundred feet of forestry hose. Side compartments have forestry hand tools, a Stihl chainsaw, a backpack blower, and various fittings. The new light bar is a combination Whelen strobe/LED bar.
